Dr Jacqui Scholes-Rhodes

I've been an executive and team coach, coach supervisor, inquiry facilitator and OD consultant for over twenty years now - increasingly convinced by the power of combining deep self-awareness with the practices of relational leadership, and the need to stand back and take a whole system view. I first put mindful attention at the centre of my coaching and consultancy in 1996, when I began researching its impact through my work with the Centre for Action Research at the University of Bath. I explored how as individuals we can develop our self-awareness through a rigorous practice of reflection and inquiry, and continue to draw on this work (PhD thesis: From the Inside Out) as I work with both leaders and their teams to fully realise the impact of their unique leadership roles.

After a successful career with ICL/Fujitsu, where I set up and led a new change management  consultancy business, I became Organisational Development Director for Novartis Pharmaceuticals. Leading the post-merger people integration strategy there up until 2000, I subsequently joined the global Leadership Consulting practice at Korn/Ferry International where I designed and facilitated major transformation and talent development programmes across Europe and North America. From 2008 to 2012 I helped set up the Systemic Team Coaching practice at the international coaching firm Praesta Partners. I now work independently and as an Associate of the Korn Ferry Hay Group.

Clients have included Statoil, Cemex, Vita Group, EDS, Fujitsu, Tele2, Quintiles, Novartis, RWEnPower, Sainsbury's, Reckitt Benckiser, Angel Trains, Deutsche Bank, Capital One, RBS and several NHS Foundation and Primary Care Trusts.

Strongly motivated by a belief that communities of people can effect their transformation through mindful and collective awareness I integrate my coaching with a form of collaborative inquiry to help facilitate the connections between individuals, teams and groups. I have documented client experiences of this approach in “Touchpoint Leadership: Creating collaborative energy across teams and organizations (Kogan Page 2013).

I'm currently exploring how our ability to write and re-write our life narratives can help contribute to a deeper understanding of our defining values, and am becoming increasingly drawn into conversations about working with care and compassion, creating shared legacy and our potential for greater interconnectedness.

If you'd like to share in these conversations then please do get in touch.
